It’s always a good day when one of your nearest and dearests asks if you can do some updated family photos for them. Of course I can; with bells on! I always aim to have fun with family sessions, but it’s extra special when it’s a family that’s become part of your own family. I’ve been lucky enough to watch these (not so) babies grow up from birth, and I am proud to be their unbiological auntie. We got to spend a few wonderful days together, and headed out in the evening sunshine one day for some family shenanigans. Every stage in childhood is different; with it’s own selection of challenges, surprises and joys. Capturing the reality of each stage is so valuable. It’s not about creating a narrative of perfection, but celebrating the natural chaos of childhood. Embracing the messy hair, and gap toothed smiles, and all of the giggles. These are the things that fill my heart with joy. Meeting children where they are, for who they are. Enough of my poetic rambles; let’s get on with the photos of some of the cutest people I know.
